Mandatory Dress Code Guidelines By Category

Every athlete representing their school or academy must adhere strictly to official SCA India dress regulations.

Phase 1 • Selection Trials

Open Talent Hunt Dress Code

Candidates reporting for district and state-level trial camps must wear traditional cricket attire:

Cricket Whites: Plain white or off-white half/full-sleeve cricket T-shirt and white flannels/trackpants.

School Sports Kit: Official physical education or sports uniform of an affiliated school is fully accepted.

Chest Identification Number: Official trial registration bib provided at the registration reception must remain visible at all times.

Phase 2 • Match Fixtures

National Championship Attire

Shortlisted players participating in official State and National championship matches will be issued tournament kits:

Sublimated Match Jersey: Official Association zonal colors with state crest on left chest and player surname/number on back.

Caps & Sunhats: Official SCA India team caps must be worn during fielding sessions. Non-approved logos prohibited.

Warm-Up Tracksuits: Full team tracksuits must be worn during opening ceremonies and post-match presentations.

Safety & Ground Care

Footwear & Stud Regulations

Proper footwear protects junior athletes against ligament injuries and preserves ground surfaces:

Rubber Stud Shoes: Highly recommended and standard for all age-groups (U-12, U-14, U-16 & U-17) on synthetic/matting tracks.

Metal Spikes: Strictly prohibited on concrete, synthetic, or indoor practice facilities. Allowed only on natural turf wickets with umpire clearance.

Socks: Plain white sports socks with adequate heel cushioning for fast bowling safety.

Player Welfare

Mandatory Protective Gear Policy

In compliance with junior cricket safety mandates, no player will be permitted to face hard-leather cricket balls without certified protective equipment:

BIS Certified Helmet: Mandatory for all batsmen & wicketkeepers standing up to the stumps.

Batting Leg Guards & Gloves: High-density foam pads fitting securely above the knee roll.

Abdominal Guard (L-Guard): Non-negotiable mandatory equipment for all male athletes.

Thigh & Chest Guards: Mandatory in U-16 & U-17 hard-ball matches against pace attacks.

Strictly Prohibited on Field

• Commercial brand logos exceeding official SCAI regulation limits.
• Metallic jewelry, chains, rings, or wristbands (injury hazard).
• Metal spikes on synthetic turf or matting trial pitches.
• Non-white t-shirts with large slogans or unauthorized graphics during trials.
• Mobile phones, smartwatches, or earplugs during net practice & play.
